I haven't been able to post all semester, so here are some of the more eventful things that happened over the last 3 months. Sanchi's bacheloretteSanchi's got the ring, and now she's just got to tie the knot! To start off her wedding celebrations, a group of her friends took a trip to Sedona, Arizona for her bachlorette. We hiked for miles, (in matching bride tshirts, nonetheless), and went on a pink jeep tour around the mountains. The weather was perfect and the sunsets were picturesque. The car we rented was an open top jeep, so it was a Bollywood song remake just waiting to happen. And the open top was also perfect for some late night stargazing in a city where its easier to find a dark field than a shopping mall. On our way back to Pheonix, we stopped at this small Indian chai shop which could only be described an Americanized dhaba. The pictures are super cute! first football game!GarbaNavratri does a great job of kicking off the holiday season. This year, UF Garba had a large turnout, and I was actually able to make it, unlike last year. Lyman was packed (as usual) but it felt really nice knowing more than just a small handful of people. Being on the raas team has never come more in handy than during these weekends. And just throwing it out there, but when everyone is dancing with dandiyas and half our team is still making garba rounds, I hate us too, but I also can't stop. Apologies for that. When everyone is trying to get on the dance floor, it's hard to take photos. Here are a few where our faces are not flushed, our hair is not sweaty, and our dresses are all pinned. Bollyfunk
thanksgiving break! The break definitely started off quite eventfully, but in this case, eventful shouldn't be taken in a positive connotation. As I was loading my bags into my trunk, I accidentally locked my only pair of keys in the back, and with my luck, the doors weren't unlocked either. After 45 minutes of waiting for a Triple A member to come and unlock the doors, I was finally able to start off. I needed to pick Pranav up from his apartment, but as I was turning into his street, my car stalled and then stopped in the middle of the road. I was not even able to turn into a lot and no matter how many times I tried to restart it, it wouldn't budge. Luckily, a few of Pranav's friends were also there to check out the car, so I wasn't alone. When someone suggested that we put it on neutral and push it to the side, the engine miraculously started and we were able to drive it to the nearest repair shop. After dad came up the next day, we found out that my radiator had broken (??) and my car was overheating. It's not the best news but I am definitely thankful that it didn't stop at the middle of a busy road and cause an accident. (And as if all this wasn't overwhelming enough, the night the car troubles happened, I was heading to bed but I accidentally knocked over a freshly watered plant, getting wet mud and small rocks all over a very fluffy blanket). What a great start to the break!
