Last week, I began my first official job (that's official as in with a real paycheck) at our local Kumon. Not only was I able to keep in touch with my old math work, but I was also able to help around with a new batch of children. Mrs. Beth was extremely kind with the whole process and was very accommodating to my schedule (with the upcoming India trip, etc.)
This summer I wasn't specifically doing it to keep a pay check coming, as I am very fortunate that there doesn't have to be an extra income in our household. I did it mainly for the working experience. Is this something I would actually like to pursue? How do I like coming in on a fixed schedule to a place other than school? This is just summer, how would it be for the entire year? Am I even ready for the real world? :o So many questions, and my mind can make up 0 answers. Thanks. Excited to actually be an employee at a company, and no matter how short, I hope it goes well!

Known as one of the determining factors of your acceptance to any college, it is absolutely essential that highschool students study well and rack up a good score for their SAT test. I decided to give it a go at the end of the school year, and take the official SAT for the first time. In all honesty, I felt that this one was a little harder than the previous practice tests, but it was nice to have the sense of how it will be if I have to take it again (which is highly recommended any way).
Hoping for a decent score! Update: 2070 -- Trying again in October...Pick up the pace, Anushri! |
