Today we went shopping and got...
Shoes that fit a bit too comfortably Jackets on sale, and then stuck in the store because of rain that was supposed to finish in April Shirts for the family Good parking space that we got because we had to take our things back to the car for a round two Bows that I had originally ordered online but ended up finding at Forever 21 Jeans that are white, which gives me anxiety Purses that (in my opinion) were priced a lot more than the material was worth Someone from the great state of Ohio (but not as great as FL) came to visit us today.
After two long years Katherine and I had quite a lot of catching up to do Between bandannas, weird music, and the Brazil/Chile game it was an unforgettable day. Thanks, Kat ;) Background info: I haven't really been out of the house much in a couple of days
How it relates: When mom said she needed to go out shopping (as well as return a few things) I grabbed the opportunity and went along with her. After a few hours of Khols, Walmart, Bells and ToysRUs (all of which I may not completely consider shopping...) we started to head back home. Oh, another fact? We were in the very center of a lightning storm. Fun. After reaching home we had very limited time to change in order to get ready for the Hema Malini dance show that was going to be taking place later that night. Now, at this point in time, she is about 65 years old, and attempting classical dance. The performance was quite good, as she and her troop conveyed the entire story of Parvati and Shiva's marriage and then continued it by showing us the power of Maa Durga Limitless Although it is a couple years old, I'm really glad I was able to watch this movie tonight Bradley Cooper did a phenomenal job playing a depressed man who was able to get his hands on a supply of pills (drugs) that makes him very smart. We saw as he went from a nobody to someone with more power than he could imagine in just a few short months. I guess people get a little confident when they suddenly notice and remember everything they have ever seen or done, and with just a 'little less gray matter' he was able to transform his life (but with some side effects, of course) If you haven't seen it already, this movie is not one to miss Does it remind you a bit of the new movie Lucy? In a way...maybe a bit, but (although I have yet to see Lucy) I am quite certain that they have completely different concepts Today, mom and I got a slot to work at the Gingerbread house at Give Kids the World. I'm not sure if I have ever mentioned this here but GKTW is a non-profit organization that provides a week or residence, food and fun to terminally ill children and their family. Almost completely run by volunteers, GKTW is truly an experience you should try to have (volunteering, of course)
After almost a month of not seeing her, I got to relive the days (not too long ago) of old Indian movie stars, the mobsters of Italy and World Was Two in Color. I have to say, I really missed it, no matter how little I may have grasped on to.
Today, fighting the rain, Nayha and I were able to meet up and have a quick bite at the local Baskin Robins. After a good talk that ranged from family to prison escapes to choreographed dances I hope may happen, we were able to catch up on the dog days of summer. Hope this happens again :) The day started bright and early for me, as I woke up only to be greeted by my one and only; that's right, my trusty laptop was right by me from the start. Not too long after that I was informed that I would be accompanying my cousin, Anurag (who had arrived yesterday from California) to the happiest place on earth. DisneyWorld. Sure, we were a bit old for a land full of pirates and princesses, but when you come to Florida, how can you miss it?
At Magic Kingdom, I have to mention that some of the rides (ex. Monster's Inc. Laugh Floor, the Haunted Mansion etc.) really had an upgrade. With improved technology, there was a whole new level of interactive characters and screens that responded to whatever you did. Along with that, the parade at night and the show before the fireworks was just phenomenal. There were tons of lights on not only all of the floats but also on the characters themselves. Once we headed to the castle the show that was put on there blew my mind. Literally. I'm quite sure people are still cleaning up parts of my brain off Main St. USA. On the castle itself there were projections that were lined up so precisely it was able to sketch out the outline of the entire castle. This was just a few of the spectacular effects that were displayed over there today. The fireworks, as usual, were a treat to our eyes, although probably not too much of a treat to our atmosphere... But, after hours of walking, a good companion and a day filled with dreams, I'm sure those blisters that I'm going to see tomorrow will be worth it. Alarm goes off at 7:45.
Snooze. Alarm goes off at 8:00 Snooze. I'll wake up in a few min Gets jolted awake by mother. Looks at clock. 9:15 Ugh. Again. Went to get report cards from the school today and then took a detour to the air conditioning hardware shop. Yeah, I was surprised there was a store like that as well. Reached home by around 2 and fixed up a very quick meal of spaghetti, garlic bread and a few pieces of soy chicken, although it seems that I eat like a pig... Then, after a couple hours of annoying (and eventually begging), mum finally took me to get my hair cut. An hour later I come out of the salon with about 5 inches of my hair chopped off -- and since they wet my hair, I also walked out looking like a frizzy mess. After I got home and straightened it, I felt a lot more comfortable with the looks The day ended with pani puri night all the while watching the Titanic. Perfect. After taking off and then redoing my henna from yesterday, I finally got it dark enough for my liking. Watching the Fifa game throughout the day, I finally started to get ready to go bowl with a few friends in the evening. It was a fun day :) Meeting up with the group after a few weeks off Good times, good times :) It is the 13th day of summer and I literally have nothing to do anymore...
