College starts in the fall, but the prep work starts now. The last two days were UF's Preview, a time where the students get used to the campus, meet with an adviser and select their classes for the upcoming semester. We drove up early Tuesday morning, and for the next two days, there were non-stop presentations, pamphlets and programs -- all in all, there was a lot of information to digest in 48 hours.
Topics ranged from campus safety to GPA to extracurriculars to finances. It really made me excited for whats coming up. I also have a theory that the preview student staffers yell out "It's great to be a Florida Gator!" so many times only because they know your subconscious eventually starts to believe it. I mean, I think it worked :)

The arrival of the Vickroli khandan
After the swarm of endless exams finally subsided, I was given the best treat I could have asked for: Mema, Kaavs, Chitin and Ammama arrived the day after my freedom was declared (and just in time for graduation!!). The house was bustling -- but in a normally quiet home, chaos was welcome. Now, being able to drive, it was my responsibility (and honor) to show the family gems around Orlando. Not only were they able to see the main attractions, but I was able to fish out some less common but worthwhile sights and we were able to explore together. This is a Google Drive link that is a compilation of everything from their trip! https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B81IMhwFYt4dNW5JRDRMSkxwYWc But these are definitely the highlights ;) |
