Ok, so there is this new game called Flappy Bird. And it is addicting. It is quite addicting. Now, if you haven't heard of it, or you live under a rock or you are an Indian parent, then let me give you a little tip: IT TAKES OVER YOUR LIFE AND DIGS INTO YOUR SOUL.
Now if you don't believe me then go ahead, play the game. Chances are that you will either get super frustrated with it in the first 10 minutes of playing and then delete the game all the while denying that it was even good to begin with. If that doesn't happen, then you you are most probably be totally addicted to it and will not be able to keep it down. As you continue to die numerous amount of times, you will be yelling more at your phone than you probably should yet you still won't delete the game. Above all, beating your high score on Flappy Bird suddenly seems more important/essential that, lets say, getting a scholarship. If you start the game now, let me warn you, you will be sucked into a realm that is incredibly hard to get out of. If you have already started to play it....may the odds be ever in your favor.

Today was the marvelous reception of the one and only Vijay bhai (is it uncle now? ;) The party was absolutely amazing, our performance went of pretty darn well, I saw Asmita and Amber (from school -- who know that we had the same connections?) and the food, of course, was fabulous. Now let me tell you a bit about wedding food, especially in Indian weddings. THE FOOD IS ENTICING. EXQUISITE. HEAVENLY. ALL. THE. TIME. There has not been a single reception that I've gone to, that the food hasn't been above and beyond what I expected...although I am probably not the best one to make that call considering the fact that I have never been to a wedding and this is only my second reception... But all in all, this was a truly amazing night, and it will definitely be one to remember :) Remember that time when your body was so sore that you had a hard time walking up and down (especially down) the stairs? That time when you could not sit with your legs crossed? Well, that's how I felt the entire day of Tuesday. It was awful. But also, I could literally feel the muscles of my thighs growing. That part? I didn't mind :)
I have also found out a place in school that keeps 'tear-able puns' (get it??) which made me absolutely ecstatic. So I'll try and post a pun whenever I get one from there Today's: Did you hear of that guys who got hit in the head with a can of soda? Good thing it was a soft drink! I laughed for a straight 5 min for this..probably much more than needed...oh my..puns make me so happy. Click the picture to see the puns!! Hi everyone! As the mundane SAT class came to an end on this lovely Sunday morning, I was very excited for the day to come. I was going to be over at Niyati's house for the night so we can finish the choreography of the dance for the wedding next week (this time it we are doing a combination of Mele Chaliayan and Nagada Sang Dhol, in which everyone will agree that Deepika did phenomenal). As we reached her house, we did the norm; eat, talk, take a whole bunch of selfies, eat a little more..same old same old. In a while, we started the practice. Now this is something that we normally spend quite a bit of time on, and today was no exception. We had to get the song down perfect before we ended the day. And then... Niyati asked me, Her: "Hey Anu, can I ask you for a favor?" Me: "Sure" Her: Could we go on a jog today? Maybe at like 5, the weather feels really nice then" Me: Ermmm....yeah sure we can go *Let me interrupt to say that I am one of the laziest people when it comes to running -- or anything else...* So by around 5 pm we leave the house to go on a trail. And we ran 4 miles. Yes that's right. 4 miles. The only jogging I ever do is letting my mind run. And even that would more accurately be classified as a fast walk. Its sad. But we ran. And we ran. And we ran and ran some more oh my gosh itfeelslikethetrailwillneverendwhyamIstillrunning. Ok so I'll be honest with you, I did not run the whole way -- actually I would have walked most of it if it weren't for Niyati. Actually, I can't remember the last time I went running but I've been jogging my memory. Did you catch that pun? I hope so. But after that completely exhausting workout, we come home tired. No, correction -- I come home tired. Niyati is as replenished as ever. I don't know how that is possible. I really don't. But kudos to her; it is truly amazing :) And what do we do after about 30 minutes? Yup, you guessed it. We danced a little more. I am now poop-ed. But all the pains was taken away at about 9:30 pm we started to make (egg less) chocolate chip cookies which were purely delectable :) The recipe: http://bunchofcooks.blogspot.com/2009/07/egg-free-chocolate-chip-cookies.html And tomorrow? Tomorrow, when my body feels like it will break any minute, we will be having a dance class with Bhama Aunty. I know not what to do; wish me luck. Have you guessed it yet? If yes, Great Job!! If not, you should be able to do better. The title was trying to convey...
Ice Skating!! As part of a fundraising event for our class field trip, we called the IB classes to spend a day on the ice with all our friends. It was super fun and I got to meet many new people :) The highlight of the evening was probably when I lost my balance, stumbled, fell on my back, and then slid for 5 feet, all the while laughing XD (all this happened when I was with a group of people) The one thing that got me off the ice was someone in the background yelling "pick up your hands!" The fear of my fingers getting sliced off by a novice ice skater like myself, I managed to pull myself up All in all, this was a very memorable evening, and I'm pretty sure based on the bruise that is starting to form on my back, I will not be forgetting this day for a while ;) TODAY IS MY DADDY'S BIRTHDAY!!!! He turned (insert age here) and I'm pretty sure this was the best birthday of all! Why? Cause we barely did anything, and my daddy likes it just like that :) But for dinner all the wonderful people of Hunter's Creek came along and they had great gossip time ;) Ok, here's my sentimental part of the post: Dear Daddy, I know that I didn't do much on your birthday, and for that I am sorry a thousand times. I just haven't had time, and even though this is a bit late its the thought that counts, right (and isn't that what you say ;) ? Dad, you have made me laugh hundreds of times, brought me up when I'm feeling low and even though sometimes you can drive me crazy with all the school work that you 'encourage' me to do, I always know that its all going to help me later (although I may put up a fit now). Thanks for supporting me in everything that I do, from art to dance to baking (especially in baking ;) Hope you had a birthday as amazing as you :* Day 1: First class, first time -- ever. English. Dr. Weaver is scaring us. Saying even the smartest students sometimes don't pass. There are much smarter kids here than me. The bell rings and we begin. It was tough. There was a lot to write, 2 hours may not be enough. But I finish. Many people don't. The grading begins. Spanish was a lot easier than I thought, and the math test was the entire study guide with different numbers. It was amazing.
Day 2: Only APES today. Very stressed. Was up all last night studying for it, but I had a strong feeling it still wouldn't help. The hour arrives and a part of me dies. It starts. I start. Not tooo bad, but still hard. towards the end I had to go to the bathroom. Do you understand how hard it is to try and concentrate on a particularly hard test when your body is begging you to make a dash? In case you don't, it is very hard. I don't recommend. Day 3: Astronomy, Bio and Human Geo today. Last day. Not bad. Starting to get de-stressed. I want to go home and sleep more than anything. Long week. When are we ever going to have to know half of the things we know? Think about it. For the older people reading this, honestly say how many times did you need to use the process of photosynthesis, or cellular respiration? You are thinking about how you don't even remember the process now, aren't you? Ok, what about the conflict between the regions of Yugoslavia? WHY DO WE HAVE TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS?! For example: Situation: You are in a meeting, and your boss announces a project that you are the head of.
Boss: I need you to give us an update of the company's profits from the last year Me: *Thinking* This is a great place to show off my knowledge of the problems of Siberia have impacted the company negatively! Next thing you know, you are fired, and you are scratching your head wondering why. Great. :/ Hello world, viewers, audience
Before I start anything else, I would like to point out that the title of this post in fact stands for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and not what some people may think I will now proceed to write about these last 3 days, which were not as great as I hoped it would be. This? This was good. Reallllyyy good. This is my very own mother's replication of Starbucks White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha, the one (and only) flavor mom actually likes. (ya. i know.) But after a day of being completely outraged at the unbelievable prices I have to pay in order to drink one small cup of coffee ($4.15 plus tax! I mean, really?? Not to go all Indian on here, but I would have to say, that is asking for a bit much...) she set it on herself to make the drink on her own. And what can I say...I was pretty close to the mega-franchise. Not bad mum, not bad.. Want the recipe?? Too bad, its a secret ;) |
