After waiting all year, it's finally here!! I've only been going to garba for a few years now but I look forward to it months in advance!
What can be better than dancing through the night? We had ordered a dress from online but when it came in we realized that it wasn't one with a lot of flare. So what does my mom do a few hours before garba starts? She buys me a new dress. I had no clue, I was absolutely stunned and I will love her forever for it (I really have no choice on that last one ;) With a new dress I am even more excited to go and we get there just as it was starting. Niyati had also bought a few of her friends from her school and I felt it was great to give them such a unique experience. We all danced until we could no longer feel our feet. I later realized that I had two huge blisters on the bottom of my two big toes. We wrapped up by around 3 in the morning and after reaching Niyati's house (barely able to walk), we had a large bowl of ice cream and then hit the bed. By the time we all fell asleep it was about 5. And of course, my body picks this day to wake up at 7:30 -_-. We were just lying down until about 10, when we got up, had breakfast and then started choreographing for our upcoming performance. Remember this is being done less than 24 hours after we finished dancing for about 5 hours straight. Although the choreo is starting to shape up, it was an excruciating process. And I loved every minute of it ;) After all, they say that soreness is the best kind of pain :) (and I obviously am not sore often...)
