Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful dad's out there!!
Once I woke up (admittedly at a late start), I decided to make my father some of the only cooked breakfast that I actually know how to make; cereal. No, don't worry, I'm just kidding. I know, I know, cereal is neither cooked nor the only thing I can put together (but it is one of the few..) After sitting him on the couch and turning on the TV, I went into the kitchen and started off the morning and made him a strong coffee. Once the coffee was served, I got to making pancakes and scrambled eggs (with cheese!). I have to say, these pancakes turned out quite well, and for that I think I deserve a pat on the back :) The food was served with some of mom's blueberry sauce. All in all it was quite a good meal, especially at my cooking standards. And although dad spent the entire day making mom and I do things on the simple excuse of 'its father's day' I still love him <3 (That's a heart, dad)

Movies in the morning. X-Men something something something. To be honest, I'm not sure of the whole name.
Baking back at home. Making Pistachio butter cookies for mom's arrival tonight. Recipe on the Recipe page. Over all, quite a good day. Oh, what did I do today? How nice of you! Being in the mood, I decided to steam and exfoliate my face and open up all the pores, then make a shaving scrub consisting of oil, sugar and lemon and shave my legs. I also washed my hair and put on new clothes. It was a very reviving day. Thanks for asking. This is what I used for anyone who was wondering. Chances are you don't need the whole thing. I halved everything and I still had leftover. But it works like a charm. After a quick trip to Walmart at 9 in the morning, dad and I made our way to Alka Aunty's house for a start of summer pool party. After 3 hours in the pool and 3 shades tanner, we went back home (only to sleep a bit more)
After some time, we decided to go driving, and Pranav and Uncle came with us as well. We practiced a bit around an old and empty lot, before a storm swept through the city. Once it let out its full fury, we went over to Shanti Aunty's house for dinner, and as a welcome back to Aditi Aunty who had just come back from India :) Today I cleaned. And cleaned. And then I cleaned some more.
By then I was about halfway done with my room. Yes, I know, I'm sorry mom, but I don't clean my room often; I don't know why, it just doesn't bother me with paint on the floor, cloths on my bed and miscellaneous items on my dresser to such an extent that you cannot see the bottom. But when I clean (though it may not be often) I really clean. These rare occasions occur probably about twice a year, three if you are lucky. I reorganize my bookshelf, dresser, nightstand, and sometimes even go through my entire closet. It is honestly wonderful There will be nothing out of place for approximately.... 3 and a half days.. then things start to get a little more normal and the cycle repeats itself. After about 3 to 4 hours of wonderful cleaning, I went to the mall with mom so she could get some new clothes for her business training the following week. Not long after reaching back home we went to Vrinda Aunty's house for a welcome back party for Kiran Aunty. This was your typical Indian party, so I'm pretty sure no matter when in the future I stumble back on this post, it would still be almost the same. Would I be considered any cooler if I said that I was able to brush my hand with Sonu Nigam's arm tonight?
No? No, probably not, but it made me feel cool for those couple of seconds. We went to a Sonu Nigam concert today and the experience was phenomenal. Not only does he have the voice people can only dream of, but he is also an all round entertainer. There wasn't a single moment in those 3 hours in which we were even mildly bored; along with a plethora of songs were also an array of jokes what got the audience in tears. Niyati and Nayha were also with me and towards the very end of the show we literally sprinted to the front of the stage to meet him. These are times that will be remembered. This summer I have made it a commitment that I will be more healthy and exercise more often.
I really hope that continues. I started off the summer going on a bike ride with Hope, in the dead middle of the day. The sun was beating down on us and after about 2 miles outside, one starts to sweat; even if you are on a bike. Back at her house, we decided to go swimming, which I though was a fantastic way to start the summer as well as to beat the heat. We were in the pool for a bit, and in those two hours, I'm pretty sure I got at least 3 shades darker. Thanks sun. I got back home at around 4 and soon had to start getting ready to go to the premier of The Fault Of Our Stars, with Jordan and Siri. The movie was absolutely AMAZING. In all honesty, I would give the movie a 9 out of 10, and that is just because (I'm pretty sure I have no heart and..) I didn't cry (unlike some other people at the theater, who just let the tears flow) Freshman year done.
Summer 2K14 has begun. Lets hope this is a good one :) |
