This was my first birthday I spent away from my parents. This was also the first birthday where I wanted the aging process to slow down. Funny how that works.
It was a great day, and was really made that way by those around around me.
Most people have a cake cutting close to midnight. But while Nirva and Divya might have had plans, due to some unfortunate circumstances including a shortened raas practice, a broken down car and a project due at 11:59pm, I definitely wasn't on the same page. Despite this, I was greeted by a small entourage of people at my friends apartment at around 10:30 pm, all singing happy birthday. It was a wonderful and unexpected surprise, for both me, and my unsuspecting computer science friend. Lucky for everyone, I was also able to submit the project right before this apartment invasion.
That night I also got a wonderful gift from Nirva and Divya. Not only did they get me a travel mug for my chai (since I lost my other one a few weeks ago), but they also made me this gem. No words :)
I talked to Niys that night, eating my first meal of the new year, Maggi. I also received her gift later that day, and coincidentally enough, it was a bowl made for noodles, complete with chopsticks.
Reading through this, it seems focused on the gifts, but I didn't want to brush that aside. I know how much thought went into them. I appreciate and love these girls so much, and it means so much to see that they care.
Also, this blog turned 5 today :)
