After a (pretty) useless and boring freshman orientation that all the IBSO members had to attend, I got to spend the rest of the evening with Hope and Jordan at a Cypress vs. Lake Nona volleyball match. Now, considering the fact that I knew close to nothing about the rules of volleyball, I did have a couple of questions. Actually, it ended up being Jordan giving me the play-by-play for the entire game. Sorry. But anyway, the game turned out to be really good! It was a varsity game and both the teams were exceptional. They played 4 sets and....drum roll, please......CYPRESS WON!!! < this is also most probably the first thing that you saw as you started reading, so I guess there wasn't much suspense....
I also now know what line they play by, how the point system works, the basic rules of the net, and who the libero is. Be proud Jordan, be proud.

Today was a normal day at school. Tedious tests and colorless classes; same old same old. Today was a Monday so I had to stay back for and IBSO meeting (we didn't end up having one so I was just hanging out in the library with a few friends). At around 3, the normal time my mom was supposed to come pick me up, I get a phone call instead. It goes something like this:
Me: Hi, ya, where are you? Mom: Ok, someone is going to come and pick you up, I got into a small crash Me: *Gasps* *circle of friends grow quite* Me: Ohmygawd what happened? Are you ok? Mom: Yes, yes I'm ok but Nadan uncle is going to come and pick you up soon ok? Me: ..Ok.. bye About 20 minutes later, I find myself in uncle's car, and soon his house where I do a bit of homework, eat a heavy lunch and find out what actually happened outside the confinements of my four school walls. Apparently, my mom was a bit dazed while driving and forgot to yield when it was required. A car coming from the side rammed into the rear passenger side of the car. Thank God no one was hurt but I was stunned to see the state of the car at home. The doors on the entire right side were jammed. Worst of all? My dad was on a business trip to Atlanta and this happened about 30 minutes after his flight took off... I woke up on this gorgeous Saturday morning to the birds calling, the flowers booming, the sun shining and not a cloud in the sky. The morning was so perfect that I could even hear a soft melody playing in the background and everything happening in slow motion as the rays of light spread though my room.
Then -- the music gets cut, the light becomes dimmer and the truth hits me in the face -- hard. The one and only reason I got up so early on this Saturday morning was so that I could go (back) to school and take an AP Environmental practice exam. The test was long and boring; nothing worth noting. Moving on. I came home to see that the furniture for mis padres room had arrived! And I have to admit, it was quite a good change. In the evening, we went to Manavi and Pranav's house for a dinner, and together the 3 of us watched The Conjuring. I most probably won't be able to sleep with my lights off tonight. I think that sumed up the movie pretty well. |
